Hi there!
My name is Shruti Borkute-Thengane. I am a Senior Research Assistant at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore, working under Dr Malika in the Multi-Agent Robotics Vision and Learning (MARVL) Lab.
I am currently working on automated, undocked ship hull assessment and inspection, enabling efficient pre-cleaning evaluation and post-cleaning verification to improve the speed, accuracy, and safety of maintenance operations.
In the hull inspection process, we focus on mapping critical niche areas – such as the propeller, rudder, sea chest, and bilge keel – both before and after cleaning, and assessing biofouling to quantify the extent of marine growth.
I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from Gondwana University, Gadchiroli, India. My Master’s thesis was titled “Determination of Thermo-Acoustical Parameters of Aqueous Zinc Sulphate at Different Temperatures”.
